Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Platen.

Is Platen a service or software?

Platen is software. It runs a fixed production process that takes your designs and order details and returns print-ready files — without reopening completed work.

What happens if an order is missing information?

Production doesn't start until required details are available.

Platen identifies what's missing and requests only the specific information needed before continuing.

Does Platen communicate with buyers?

Platen may request missing production details when required.

These requests are structured and limited to specific fields. You remain in control of the customer relationship.

What does delivery look like?

For each order, Platen delivers a packaged set of print-ready files prepared according to the order's specifications.

Files are ready to send directly to your printer or production partner.

Do I need to check the files?

You don't have to.

Platen validates files before delivery, so most sellers don't need to review them again. If you prefer, you can always review files and have the final say before fulfillment.

How long are completed order files stored?

Completed order files are available for 30 days after delivery.

This gives you time to fulfill the order, resend files if needed, or review them later.

What happens after 30 days?

After 30 days, completed order files may be removed unless you choose to keep them stored.

Many sellers download files and move them to their own storage once an order is fulfilled.

Do I have to pay for long-term storage?

No. Long-term storage of completed order files is optional.

Your design files remain stored for reuse.

Can I download everything?

Yes. You can download your designs and completed files at any time during the storage window.

Does Platen help me create designs?

No.

Platen assumes your designs already exist. It handles production and fulfillment after the order comes in.
